Sam Benke brings more than 30 years of combined experience in information technology and education, blending deep industry knowledge with a strong commitment to student success. He currently serves as an IT Assistant Professor and Department Chair, with teaching and leadership focused on cybersecurity, networking, cloud, and industry partnership.Sam plays a key role in statewide collaboration as Co-Chair of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) IT Peer Group, and serves on both the VCCS AI Taskforce and the Executive Committee of the Virginia Cyber Range, helping shape the future of IT and cybersecurity education across the state.A strong advocate for hands-on, career-focused learning, he integrates real-world tools and scenarios into his courses to help students earn industry-recognized certifications and launch successful careers. He holds multiple IT certifications and remains actively engaged in staying current with emerging technologies and trends in the field.
